BlackBerry has announced that it will be unveiling its “Mercury” smartphone on February 25 at the 2017 edition of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. The Canadian company announced this via a tweet.

As
for the design, the Mercury follows the BlackBerry Classic design as a
form factor built device. The phone has an aluminium casing on the sides
with black antenna bands and a USB Type-C port at the bottom.
Also, there are two speaker grilles at the bottom, and the power button along with the volume rockers are placed on the right side of the device. The phone is distinctly BlackBerry in style and design, and looks like a premium device.
Though there are no official specs of the phone, it is expected that the Mercury would feature a 4.5-inch display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. Mercury is speculated to feature 4GB RAM, and will be backed by a 3400 mAh battery. The rear of the device will house an 18MP camera, while the front of the device will feature an 8MP sensor. It also rocks a physical QWERTY keyboard built in and a fingerprint sensor on the spacebar.
Recall that BlackBerry announced earlier last year that it would end the production of its own phones, but instead shift focus to software development and enterprise solutions.
Before now, the company had dumped its own software and based on Android which featured in the BlackBerry PRIV and DTEK 50.
