Retail chain company, Domino has partnered with ford to trial the first pizza delivery self-driving car to its customers in Michigan, United States. This is part of Ford's attempt to inquire into how people react and interact with autonomous vehicles.
Randomly-selected customers would test out the service.
“We don’t want to wait until we get everything done on the tech and remove the driver,” said Sherif Marakby, vice president of Ford’s autonomous vehicles division. “We’re trying to start doing the research. We still are working on the technology, because it’s not ready to be put on public streets. It’s simulating that the vehicle is in autonomous mode.”.
Aside from autonomous cars, Domino is also looking into pizza delivery with drones for faster and more efficient services to meet customer satisfaction.
