The Ford Ranger has successfully emerged as the 2016 Pick-up of the Year in Nigeria, defeating the popular and most widely used Toyota Hilux pickup truck.
The award was conferred on the Ranger by the Nigerian Auto Journalists Association (NAJA).
In its competitive segment are the Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck and the Toyota Hilux pickup truck which are about the regular pickups in Nigeria.

Sole authorised dealer of Ford in Nigeria, Coscharis Motors recognised the award as a milestone achievement of Ford in the Nigerian Auto industry.
The crowning event which held at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos saw the presence of stakeholders and key players in the Nigerian Auto sector.
The Ford Ranger was crowned the 2016 Pick-up of the Year by the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA), reinforcing its status as a segment-defining model in the highly competitive light commercial vehicle sector.
Rob Johnston, Regional Manager Sales and Marketing for Ford Sub-Saharan Africa reacted to the award as stating: “We’re delighted that the Ford Ranger won this coveted Pick-up of the Year title, which recognised its impressive range of technologies, bold design and outstanding capabilities”.
